New Year Resolutions for 2016
It is that time of year again where we make commitments; we all hope for the best, use your will power and try to keep them through the year. Here are a few resolutions that I have made in the past or have heard of:
- Buy / Sell a house (we have to mention that one!)
- Lose weight
- Get out of debt
- Quit (insert bad habit)
- Start (insert good habit)
- Spend more time with family
- Call friends and family more
- Change job / get promoted at work
- Volunteer
- Learn something new
Now that we have 10, how do you keep them? Here is a list of ways to improve you odds:
Write it down
Accountability / buddy system
Make them more specific, instead of losing weight say lose 20 pounds
Make an action plan and steps to get there
(Go to the gym 3 days a week)
(Lose 2 pounds a month)
(Make a extra credit card payment every other month)
(Cut back to a pack or number of cigarettes a day or week)
Journal and look back / review your progress
Have dead lines
Ask for help or outsource
Know what you will have to add to or subtract from daily life to succeed!
Put reminders in front of you
Work and adapt your plan based on success and failure!
Good luck! let us know how you are doing. If the buy or sell a home fits you, please give us a call so that we can help!
If you do not see your resolution or tip on how to keep one, add it to the comments!
