The Blood Mobile

Letting 2015 go out in style, in hopes to save lives today. I joined the Sioux Falls Police and Fire Departments in their 20th Annual Sioux Falls Heroes Behind the Badges Blood Drive Event.

They have been collecting blood from December 28, 2015 and will continue to collect till January 8, 2016 in various locations throughout Sioux Falls. They had a bunch of neat give away prizes (T-shirt, coupons for Texas Roadhouse, SkyForce Basketball, and Washington Pavilion) and it is a really great way to contribute to your community.

I personally have been donating blood now for over 20 years. I remember doing a blood drive in high school, many times while in the Army, and was a regular appointment at Bonfils http://www.bonfils.org/ when I lived in Colorado Springs. I have only donated twice since I moved to South Dakota this year, but one of my goals in 2016 is to donate more, especially since today I found out there is a community blood bank www.cbblifeblood.org It is so easy, it only takes about an hour, and is a way to give to the community that costs you literally nothing.

So I have attached a few photos from my adventure this morning. There was a very nice group of workers and volunteers at Metabank https://www.metabank.com/ . And I, of course, was there representing EXIT Realty Sioux Empire http://www.exitsiouxempire.com/ .
