Spring Cleaning Tips for the exterior of your home

With spring around the corner, here are a few spring cleaning tips for the exterior of your home.  Whether you are thinking of listing your home or not, this is just general maintenance that will keep your home in ship shape.

1. Screens – Winter can leave some residue on your windows, so tackling the screens is a good first step.  Remove the screens if they are especially dirty and wash with a garden hose or scrub with a brush if need be.
2. Windows –There are so many ways to get those windows to sparkle and you will be amazed at how much more natural light comes in once you get the residue off your windows. I’ve had clients tell me their preference is soap and water, norwex cloths, newspapers, squeegies, so find what works for you! 
3. Gutters – Not a fun project however if you are fortunate to live in a neighborhood with trees, you will want to get out a ladder and clean the gutters. Remember if they are full, the water has to have somewhere to go and it will overflow the gutters and possibly into your basement.
